We love the outdoors and the fact that nature doesn’t discriminate. She will expose you for who you are. If you’re willing to learn she will reveal your strengths, weaknesses, and insecurities. It's truly magical when you unplug and commit to getting lost. Being alone with your thoughts and forcing yourself evaluate who you are is eye-opening.
We want this. We want good vibes in the midst of chaos and adversity. We seek out events that facilitate this. We crave being around other people that are our kinda crazy.
We have made lifelong friends and met some of the planet’s most rad humans doing these events.
We wanted an excuse to hang out with these people again, so we made one and created TPK Endurance.
I've always lived my life outside. I had a unique childhood growing up in Northern California without electricity, a telephone, or a tv. I woke to a rooster, got ready for school by kerosene lamp and pumped the well for water. If there was an emergency I walked 8 miles into town to call my parents. I loved it. It taught me about life, what it means to work hard and what being happy is really about. It forced me to be resourceful and independent and gave me the confidence I needed as I got older. From early on I had a deep connection with nature that has stuck with me throughout my life. I am passionate about doing things that scare me (on purpose) and learning from those experiences in hopes of becoming a better human.
"May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds." Edward Abbey
I spent the majority of my life hardly exploring the mountains and wild life in Arizona. Instead, I navigated the concrete with four wheels and a piece of wood beneath my feet. Skating was my passion, my outlet, and a way to express myself. I learned how to fail over and over again but not lose my drive or commitment. I learned how to fall down and get back up and what it means to work hard only to discover what you really want means you have to work even harder. As I got older these teachings stayed with me but took me in another direction.
As an adult I started running. At first only to stay active but as I ran more I wanted to run more! I wanted a challenge, a way to gauge my progress. This led me to OCR and finding the Death Race- in my mind the ultimate test. As I prepared for this test I tried many different events and ventured into ultra-trail running. I found that I love having adventures, staying awake for days doing them, and meeting incredible people.
